Tivoli Common Reporting (TCR)

TCR

TCR is a framework for the development and production of reports from a Tivoli Data Warehouse (TDW). The TCR framework installation package is provided with your ITM software, along with a set of “off the shelf” reports for ITM OS agents (UNIX, Linux and Windows). These provide many of the performance and availability reports needed for ongoing monitoring, managing and capacity planning purposes. TCR is installed within the Tivoli Integrated Portal (TIP - see below).

Reports may be developed on one machine and run on another. Reports may be run interactively or scripted. Reports may be of type HTML (i.e. web pages), DOC (MS word 2003 format) or PDF (Adobe Acrobat).

TIP

The Tivoli Integrated Portal (TIP) provides single sign-on, consolidated user management, and a single point of access for different Tivoli applications. It also provides the ability to create customised pages and administer access to content by user, role, or group. As more and more applications start to use this new interface the way Tivoli users access information will change radically.

Use of the TIP, other than as a “host” for TCR is outside the scope of this material.
